Before Your Chemical Peel
Preparation helps maximize results and minimize complications:
2-4 Weeks Before Treatment:
• Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds.
• Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily.
• If prescribed, begin using pre-treatment skincare products (such as retinoids or hydroquinone) as directed.
• If you have a history of cold sores, notify your provider (antiviral prophylaxis may be prescribed).
1 Week Before Treatment:
• Discontinue retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and other exfoliating products.
• Do not wax, use depilatory creams, or have laser treatments on the face.
• Avoid facials, microdermabrasion, or other aggressive treatments.
48 Hours Before Treatment:
• Do not shave or bleach facial hair in the treatment area.
Day of Treatment:
• Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup and skincare products.
• Wear comfortable clothing that does not need to be pulled over your head.
Important: Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have recently used Accutane, or have any active skin infections or open wounds.

- Keep the treated area clean and dry
- Follow medication instructions exactly as prescribed
- Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments
- Contact us immediately if you notice unusual symptoms
Don'ts
- Pick at or scratch the treated area
- Expose treated area to direct sunlight without protection
- Use harsh skincare products or exfoliants
- Skip or delay your follow-up appointments
